Detox Foods – the Foundation of Health
Today we see obesity, diseases and sickness running rampant across America. There is little support from the FDA, the EPA and the medical establishment to stop this trend. This places the burden of living and eating healthy on us alone. What are we to do to stop this trend?
We already know that pollution plays a key role in creating toxins that we come into contact with on a daily basis. We also know that unless we rid our bodies of these toxins, we stand a good chance of developing diseases or losing our minds when we grow older, as in Dementia.
The only way to safely remove these toxins from our bodies is through a detox diet plan. This doesn’t necessarily mean you need to buy expensive detox medications and completely flush your body, even though for some people this would be advisable.
For the majority of people though, a simple detox diet plan can be easily had just by eating the right foods.
By eating the right foods and avoiding a few others you give your body the tools it needs to flush away the build up of toxins. Your body will then begin to recover quickly and your energy levels and vitality will return. Nutrition will be your medicine. Hippocrates said it best:
“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”
Detox foods are whole foods that have a “cleansing effect” to your body. You probably eat most of these foods already. But without knowing how important they are to your body, you don’t know how you are benefiting from them.
It’s also a good idea to know the Nutrient-Density Value of other foods so you get the most benefit of eating all the right foods. By using and eating the right foods, along with some very healthy recipes, you will discover how easy it is to detox and be healthy.

You’ve got me thinking a lot about Detox these days.
I’m glad to read this article because I think I’m eating all of the right things.
I follow Dr. Joel Furhman’s “Eat To Live” program, which says to eat as many GBOMBS (Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds) as you can, and as little as possible of everything else.
The next step is to eat as much Organic produce as possible.
Eating clean as I do, I still want to do a complete Detox and Cleanse. To rid my body of all the waste I may have accumulated over the years before I started Eating Clean.

Thank you Phil for reading my article. It is so true what Dr Furhman says about what he calls “G Bombs”. If more people ate this way, much more chronic diseases would be totally avoided, like diabetes, obesity, cancer, etc. We only have one body…why destroy it making other people rich?
Ken, I can’t go along with the Grains, especially for anyone trying to lose weight. Grains are Filler and Fodder for livestock. If they feed it to cattle to fatten them up what is it gong to do to me?
Don’t get me wrong I love Bread, Pizza and Pasta as much as any Italian, but for me it’s just not an everyday thing. Much less an every meal thing.
For years I went on Atkins “Low Carb” to lose weight and there was No Bread on the program. Now, “ETL” is the way I eat, guess what No Bread! So, my conclusion, If You Want To Lose Weight… Lose The Bread… and all Grains.
I totally understand Phil your thoughts and reasoning behind your answer. It is true, especially wheat, to stay away from. These grains are for animals, not humans. When man removed the Iodine from making bread it became a source of “dead food”. The grains I am talking about are rice, which to a small degree is better, much better for you than wheat.
