A Doctors Warnings About The Health Benefits of Hemp Oil

The results are in. A doctor’s warnings about the health benefits of hemp oil could be a precursor to the rise or fall of the hemp industry. The doctor, who remains anonymous, has stated it is in his opinion the research that has already been documented shows promise, but that more research needs to be implemented on the quality and doses of hemp oil to determine the best approach to accepting hemp as a miracle drug.

Cannabis Research

It was illegal to do any research on Cannabis between the1920’s to 2018 because hemp and marijuana were both considered to be the same. Marijuana, where the THC level was more than 3% of the chemical makeup was listed as a schedule 1 drug, lumped together with heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs with no medicinal usage or purpose.

Hemp, on the other hand, had been widely grown for years by the American farmer and actually required to be grown back in the 1700s. Hemp has a very low percentage of THC, the mind-altering chemical that got marijuana listed as a schedule 1 drug.

The government has since recanted their stance and have allowed states to legalize cannabis. This has opened the doors to people of all industries to do research. Some new research that has already been conducted shows great promise for hemp oil as a painkiller to relieve the opioid crises that we face today.

Other benefits have been found, including reducing inflammation, anxiety, depression, insomnia and many other healthy alternatives to prescription medications. One of the best alternative medications in combating and controlling Epilepsy seizures is an area that hemp oil has been superior to pharmaceutical drugs.

CBD, THC, and The Difference Between Them

Yes, there is a big difference between these two chemicals. Yes, they both are found in the same genus of plant, that being Cannabis. However, with that being said, that is all they have in common, though.

There are two types of Cannabis plants. One is Cannabis Indica and the other is Cannabis Sativa. Although each component, CBD, which is cannabidiol and THC, which is tetrahydrocannabinol are present in both types, Cannabis Indica has the most THC and Cannabis Sativa, or Hemp, has very little THC.

THC is the mind-altering chemical that most people associate with Marijuana. Hemp, however, has very little to no THC which the agricultural form of Cannabis Sativa.

Cannabis Indica

According to some doctors, THC is the part of the cannabis plant that is the most strongly effective at reducing pain. It is not just a pain reliever though, it is also a muscle relaxant, and it decreases the intensity of pain. It also changes the way people experience pain. – this is called the “affective component” of pain. So the pain becomes less bothersome.

CBD, on the other hand, is derived from the hemp plant and is legal in all fifty states and is required by law to have under 3% of THC. It is touted as another form of pain relief. Some doctors, however, caution as not enough research has been conducted to conclude that it is a proven form of pain relief.

Actually, the caution is coming more from the Pharmaceutical Industry since they stand to lose millions of dollars from people self-medicating with CBD oil. There have been several studies that indicate CBD oil is by far better at treating minor to moderate pain issues verse opioids. Another great factor is that you can’t die from an overdose of CBD.

In 1988, the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) Chief Administrative Law Judge,
Francis Young wrote,
“In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume.
. . . marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis, marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care.”

It is not addicting like opioids are plus the way that hemp oil reacts with the receptors in our bodies has a much better calming effect to the central nervous system in suppressing pain signals to the brain. This suppression allows a tolerance so to speak that helps a person overcome their pain reception.

More research is obviously needed to find the best quality and dose and more strict manufacturing processes to determine a standard that all brands must meet. Currently, some CBD brands are negligent in providing an adequate amount of CBD oil and there is no mandatory testing required in the industry.

Is CBD Oil for Pain Better Than Opiates?

There is a growing consensus that CBD oil can treat many health ailments without side effects. This news is being shut down by the Big Pharmaceutical Companies because they stand to lose billions of dollars in pharmaceutical drug sales. Last year Big Pharma made 35 billion just on opioids and other pain pills.

This is another reason that the news about the benefits of hemp oil has been kept out of the media. Money that the pharmaceutical industry has profited from because Cannabis is a naturally occurring element and can’t be patented and thus no money can be made from it.

There is no money to be made in the production of hemp oil and big pharma stands to lose billions of dollars in people self-medicating with hemp oil. This would be bad for business. Big Pharma is in business not to cure your ailments, but to control your ailments.

Some reviews below from patients that benefited from hemp oil will show that they were able to discontinue pharmaceutical medications and gain relief from their chronic ailments.

CBD Oil For Losing Weight?

It is a known fact that CBD interacts with our ECS system and like a key, it unlocks our receptors CB1 and CB2. These are the two receptors that are responsible for our perception of pain. But how does it work for losing weight?

  • CBD helps the mitochondria process burn more calories to produce energy within the cells.
  • CBD has the correct ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty acids (3:1), which is optimal for the body to activate human body proteins and genes for fat breakdown and oxidation.
  • CBD, along with the other terpenes helps the body reach homeostasis which helps demodulate or reduce appetite.

There are other micro chemicals in Hemp oil that doctors can’t explain how or why but they know that they are helping the body achieve balance and better health. For one, it isn’t doing any harm to the body. Whether it is the CBD or the other components is a mystery, yet doctors explain the “Combined Effect” of CBD oil shows great potential in helping people lose weight.

The body balance that the homeostasis state reaches prevents spikes in hunger cravings which helps control weight gain. There are certain conditions that must be adhered to but the balance of Omega fats in CBD oil helps the body in more ways than harm, which for many people will lose weight.

Using Cannabis As A Brain Healer

Doctors since the discovery of the ECS system in our bodies now realize the brain is rich with cannabinoid receptors in areas responsible for functions like short and long term memory, emotions, motivation, and movement.

According to Doctor Dustin Sulak, DO, Integrative Medicine Physician and the Co-founder of Healer.com says, “Because whether we take cannabis or not, the Endocannabinoid System is extremely active throughout our whole lives. We have more CB1 receptors in the brain than any other type of neurotransmitter receptor.”

“More than the dopamine receptors, the glutamate receptors, the GABA, the serotonin receptors, literally the cannabinoid receptors are all over, they’re everywhere.” But, he goes on to say, “But they’re not evenly distributed. There are certain areas in the brain that have a lot of these cannabinoid receptors, and some areas that have very few cannabinoid receptors. So for example, the part of our brain that controls memory and emotion has a lot of cannabinoid receptors. This is why our cannabis treatment can be effective with conditions like PTSD because it is suppressing excessive activity in those memory and emotional centers.”

“On the other side, we have very few or no cannabinoid receptors in the brain stem cardiorespiratory centers. This is the part of the brain that controls our heart rate and breathing. We do have a lot of opioid receptors there. We also have a lot of benzodiazepine receptors there, so those two classes of drugs, the opioid painkillers and then the benzodiazepine anti-anxiety and muscle relaxing drugs, if we take enough of those it could suppress our heart rate, suppress our breathing, cause us to die. We can’t do that with cannabis because the receptors are just not there.”

“We can’t do that with cannabis because the receptors are just not there.”

Doctor Sulak is a firm believer in using cannabis as a medicinal treatment for not only pain reception but also PTSD, Epilepsy, Alzheimer s Disease, and other chronic ailments of the brain.

diagram of CB1 & CB2 Receptors

Clint Werner, an author, says “So cannabis does affect the expression of the central nervous system. But aside from those effects, there’re studies that find lower rates for Alzheimer’s disease, because another aspect of that interaction with these receptors is the dialing down of neuroinflammation and lowering the production of certain chemicals that may have the effect of establishing plaque deposits in the brain that interrupt signal transmission. That’s part of dementia, Alzheimer’s dementia is this plaque.”

There’s one neurologist, Dr. Gary Wenk, said that cannabinoids, heavy THS cannabinoids, act like scrubbing bubbles in actually dissolving and removing the plaque that’s associated with Alzheimer’s.

Our Endocannabinoid system regulates how the body signals, turns on or turns off certain body functions whether we use cannabis or not. Our bodies create a chemical, anandamide, that is very similar to cannabis THC that acts like a key that locks or unlocks these receptors to control how the body responds to certain stimuli.

We have only just begun our discoveries of how we can influence the cannabinoid receptors for better brain health as well as controlling acute chronic diseases.

Cannabinoids Protect Our Whole Body

David “Avocado” Wolfe, a natural health advocate and author says, “People need to consume CBD on a regular basis because it is the most neuroprotective chemical we’ve ever found, especially in a world of neurologically toxic chemicals. We are saturated with it. Everywhere we turn, even car exhaust is neurotoxic. So we need to defend ourselves.”

David goes on to say that “The cannabinoid compounds both the ones that our bodies produce and the ones that are found in the plant as well as synthetic cannabinoids, have all been shown to be highly neuroprotective.”

“It has been shown numerous times in animal studies, that you can injure the brain and protect it with THC. You can protect it with CBD. We know a lot of age-related diseases, from Parkinson’s to Alzheimer’s, have a component of chronic inflammation, neuroinflammation, and trauma. Cannabis treatment on Parkinson’s disease, for example, was able to relieve the uncontrollable muscle twitching of patients and they were able to relax. There is no other drug in existence that can do this.

Diagram of pathways

We are plagued with many chronic ailments where cannabis has been found to help better than pharmaceuticals.  The ECS has several receptors in the body’s gastrointestinal system that help with its regulation. Some symptoms that cannabinoids can reduce and eliminate include:

Digestive disorders

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

Seizure Disorders

Movement Disorders

  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Chorea and Huntington’s Disease
  • Dystonia
  • Tics and Tourette Syndrome
  • Spasticity

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK17), a 2010 report shows 60 to 70 million people in the U.S. alone suffer from a digestive disorder. Specific ailments include:

  • Hernias
  • Diverticular Disease
  • Gallstones
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
  • Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
  • Crohn’s Disease (CD)
  • Ulcers

PTSD, Anxiety Conditions, and Other Mental Health Issues

Kylie Davis had a traumatic brain injury and doctors prescribed some very intense medications, one was Topamax and other strong opioids and pain medications to help her get through and finish college. These strong medications prevented her from doing any of the studies in school. A friend told her to try cannabis and for the first time it was a game-changing experience. She was able to relieve her pain and concentrate on her studies.

She immediately poured her Topamax down the drain, but she didn’t stop there. She also poured her Adderall down the drain, a medication she had been on since seventh grade.

Conclusion

There is a real scientific grounding to look at this, the Endocannabinoid System, the master regulator, and saying targeting this could be useful to everything, from metabolic disorders to brain trauma and stroke. The sheer consensus that so much can be done to relieve patients from addiction to medications and the possibilities of an overdose, in my opinion, far out way the stigma of an outdated legal system that prohibits people access to this miracle drug.

There are hurdles to jump over to inform people of the new research that proves the cannabis plant should be legal to everyone. Government control needs to be terminated and the powers at be (Big Pharma) relinquish their grip on society.

I hope that you found this information helpful. Cannabis has been truly misunderstood for many years, ever since the US government had listed it as a gateway drug to other narcotics.

It is time that we dismiss the myths that have surrounded this medicinal plant, once and for all.
