What Is Cannabis About? FAQ

Cannabis, or hemp, is the plant that most parents warned their children about back in the 1960s. This plant is mostly misunderstood, which is why I wrote what is cannabis about FAQ article.

It has been known by several names, marijuana, weed, pot, herb, skunk, to name a few. I grew up in those years when I learned at an early age to question everything. I was influenced by the hippy movement, rock ‘n’ roll, and of course, cannabis.

Cannabis has been utilized by civilization for over two centuries. Its main purpose was for the medicinal properties it provided. Man has coveted this plant that where ever man has traveled he took hemp with him.

Despite a history of medicinal use that dates back as far as to China in 2737 B.C., today it’s still illegal for medicinal use in many areas around the world. It was regularly prescribed by healthcare professionals until the early 1920s.

Even the outcry from the American Medical Association in 1937, Congress went on to pass the Marijuana Tax Act which criminalized cannabis. Yet, despite this classification, the U.S. Government holds a patent for medicinal use.

Whether you know very little about this wondrous plant or you are an existing patient who wants even more information about Cannabis, this article plans to provide information so people can ease or even eliminate their pain, and regain
control of their lives once again.

What Are the Different Cannabis Species?

There are three types of Cannabis plants. Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis. Each varies in appearance, and because these are classifications from pre-modern scientific observations, 21st-century experts don’t agree on whether they are one species or three subspecies.

Due to years of crossbreeding in nature and by ambitious cannabis growers, many strains are now hybrids or a cross between the different species. These plants share a variety of characteristics from all three species which gives them unique benefits that were unavailable in the plant’s long-ago past.

How do you tell the difference between the species?

Growers can identify plant-type by physical appearance and growing characteristics. Sativa is the tallest of the three, with narrow leaves and a longer growing cycle which allows it to develop better in areas with a warm to a hot climate.

Indica plants are shorter than the Sativa but taller than the stout Ruderalis. They have broad leaves and a short flowering cycle that fits a cool climate’s growing season. Ruderalis is the easiest to distinguish. The species is two to two and a half feet tall, has short, stubby leaves, and is the only cannabis plant that has inherent auto-flowering capabilities triggering flower growth as the plant matures.

Marijuana, the type of cannabis that most everyone has heard of is the type of cannabis that has a higher percentage of THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol. THC is the psychoactive chemical that makes the person experience a euphoric feeling of high. Hemp, on the other hand, has very little to no THC present.

My experience is the cannabis Sativa varieties do have low percentages of THC present and give the person an energetic type feeling. The THC in the cannabis Indica variety is much higher and gives the person a much more relaxed, sometimes sedated type feeling.

Cannabis that is breed and grown for hemp oil is the Sativa variety which nearly always has a much higher percentage of CBD, CBN, CBC, and CBG and very little to no THC.

This article hopes to explain why this plant is so important not only for medicinal purposes but for long term health supplementation as well.

What Is Hemp?

Hemp is one of the oldest commodities known to man. Hemp is a variety of cannabis that denotes industrial hemp which is mainly used for industrial needs, such as making paper, rope, clothing, and lamp fuels. It has been cultivated for over 10,000 years. Some of the oldest fabric ever discovered was made of hemp, dating back to 2300 BC.

Hemp was grown back in colonial America where it was made mandatory to grow a certain percentage of land of hemp. Hemp had many uses, and today it shows great promise in combating ailments that prescription drugs have had little significance.

Hemp history originated in Central Asia and spread throughout Europe in the middle ages. For a detailed history of Hemp, please read this article History of Hemp in the US.

What is Hemp Oil?

Wikipedia defines Hemp Oil as oil obtained by pressing hemp seeds. Cold-pressed, unrefined hemp oil is dark to clear light green in color, with a nutty flavor. The darker the color, the grassier the flavor. It should not be confused with hash oil, a tetrahydrocannabinol-containing oil made from the Cannabis flower.

As explained in my earlier article, A Doctors Warnings About The Health Benefits of Hemp Oil, Full Spectrum Hemp Oil is using the whole plant, seeds, leaves. stems, and flowers. By using the whole plant scientists have found that there are more than 400 beneficial chemicals that make full-spectrum hemp oil much better than by using just the oil from hemp seeds only.

Full-spectrum hemp oil is usually referred to as CBD oil or cannabidiol oil, which is derived from industrial hemp, Sativa species, that has very little to no THC. THC is the chemical compound that gives the user the “high” or euphoric feeling that is the psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis. By law, CBD oil can’t contain more than 3% THC. Today it is legal for consumption in all but 4 states in America.

Hemp oils that are full spectrum are much better at treating common ailments because it contains all the beneficial cannabinoids. Substances such as Terpenes and Flavonoids are known to unlock our Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a system that seeks to balance all the other systems in our bodies to reach a homeostasis state.

As you can see from the image below, just some of the many chemicals found in the full-spectrum hemp oil and how they help the human body.

The Entourage Effect

Hemp oil that is derived from seeds only contains omega fatty acids, vitamin E, and protein, which is great for anti-aging capabilities. Chances are the skin and beauty products you use now contain a percentage of hemp oil. This makes hemp oil used as a topical great for skin ailments.

Hemp oil at one time meant it was an oil made from hemp seeds only. Science has since researched the cannabis plant to know that hemp oil that uses the whole plant, that is, seeds plus the leaves and the flowers is the best oil you can get. It is called Full-Spectrum, meaning it is hemp oil derived from the whole plant.

Hemp oil that utilizes the whole plant is said to have the capability of interacting with our ECS system to controlling and/or fixing many ailments all at once. Not like prescription drugs that only combat one ailment, hemp oil has the power to correct many ailments all at the same time. This entourage effect makes hemp oil superior to pharmaceuticals because it is derived from a natural plant. Also, most prescription drugs have undesirable side-effects whereas hemp oil doesn’t have any side-effects.

The entourage effect is the belief that the different compounds of the cannabis plant work better when they’re used together compared to being used individually.

What Does the ECS Do?

Our bodies have a self-regulating system that communicates with every system in the body to induce a perfect balance. This system is referred to as the Endocannabinoid System or ECS for short. Through this system the main function is bioregulation through cell-signaling; this means it supports cell-to-cell communication.

It also has an influence over other important biological systems, including the
brain, endocrine, and immune tissues. The ECS is found in all living organisms that have a spinal column. (This is why hemp oil is also good for your pets).

A large part of bioregulation is homeostasis or balance throughout the body’s regulatory systems. This process is vital to maintaining healthy, harmonious
organs. Hemp oil has these cannabidiols which bind to these receptors in our bodies that function similar to a key into a lock.

The endocannabinoids either block or stimulate the CB1 and CB2 receptors to create different effects that help maintain homeostasis.

How is Hemp Oil Manufactured?

There are several processes that hemp oil can be extracted from cannabis. One of these processes is by air, using CO2 as a solvent to extract the oil from the seeds and leaves of the plant. This process is considered the cleaner, purer form of extraction because there is no residue after extraction. When done well the end product is safe, potent, and free of chlorophyll.

This process is more expensive compared to using other processes. Ethanol is a high-grade grain alcohol that is used to dissolve the oil from the plant. Once the alcohol evaporates, pure hemp oil is left. This process, however, removes some of the plant waxes which is said to also furnish some medicinal health benefits. This form of extraction was one of the first commercial processes but has been dropped in favor of the more safe and cleaner forms of extraction.

Olive Oil – extra virgin olive oil can be used to extract hemp oil safely and inexpensively. However, cannabis-infused olive oil is perishable so it should be stored in a cool, dark place.

What Are Some Chronic Ailments Cannabis Can Treat?

Since the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill more and more research has begun to determine what cannabis can do to help man. A partial list below shows just some of the many ailments that plaque man that cannabis has shown to counteract or control. To some degree, cannabis can cure to the point in reducing pharmaceutical dependency to eliminating altogether.

The opioid epidemic is one crisis that cannabis shows great promise in stopping overdose deaths in pain management.

I have found that hemp oil reduces my flair-ups of eczema. Since using hemp oil I no longer have to purchase expensive prescription medication for my skin condition. No more itch, which gives me peace of mind – and relief!

Sayer Ji, Author & Natural Health Expert has recently written a book, How To Avoid Genetic Disease and Illness, and produced a masterclass with the same name. His video is quite compelling in how cannabis can help the body regenerate into better health.

If you are looking for alternative medical treatments for avoiding cancer and all the side effects that chemotherapy provides, you will definitely want to check out my new post, What Are the Health Benefits of Hemp Oil.

Conclusion

The United States is well behind the research that Israel has completed on the power of cannabis and all the ailments that can be subdued or controlled. The US government still holds cannabis as a schedule I narcotic, or drug with no medical usage. It has, however, conceded authority in prosecuting people with possession in most states.

So far there are only four states that have not legalized any form of cannabis. They are Kansas, Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota. The penalties for possession can be severe, ranging from fines to jail time. There are 23 states where medical cannabis is legal. They are Arizona, Arkansas, New Mexico, Utah, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, New Jersey, Maryland, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Florida, West Virginia, and Hawaii.

States where medical CBD only is legal are Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Wyoming, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin.

As more research is conducted a better understanding will prevail in exercising the benefits of the cannabis plant. I feel it is our God-given right of choice to choose what medication is best for each individual. Whether it is pharmaceuticals or an alternative natural substance, the government or the medical establishment should not block access to any individual.

As big Pharma stands to lose billions of dollars from legalization and wide-spread use of cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceuticals, Big Pharma has been lobbying Congress and spending millions to discredit cannabis as a viable alternative medicine. This is the other reason this article was published, to counter the propaganda against cannabis.

Let Thy Food Be Thy Medicine. Cannabis should be legal for everyone.

I welcome you to do your own research as I have in finding the truth and what is best for you. I endorse Endoca for their hemp oil that I used to treat my eczema. You can find it on my hemp oil page.

A Doctors Warnings About The Health Benefits of Hemp Oil

The results are in. A doctor’s warnings about the health benefits of hemp oil could be a precursor to the rise or fall of the hemp industry. The doctor, who remains anonymous, has stated it is in his opinion the research that has already been documented shows promise, but that more research needs to be implemented on the quality and doses of hemp oil to determine the best approach to accepting hemp as a miracle drug.

Cannabis Research

It was illegal to do any research on Cannabis between the1920’s to 2018 because hemp and marijuana were both considered to be the same. Marijuana, where the THC level was more than 3% of the chemical makeup was listed as a schedule 1 drug, lumped together with heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs with no medicinal usage or purpose.

Hemp, on the other hand, had been widely grown for years by the American farmer and actually required to be grown back in the 1700s. Hemp has a very low percentage of THC, the mind-altering chemical that got marijuana listed as a schedule 1 drug.

The government has since recanted their stance and have allowed states to legalize cannabis. This has opened the doors to people of all industries to do research. Some new research that has already been conducted shows great promise for hemp oil as a painkiller to relieve the opioid crises that we face today.

Other benefits have been found, including reducing inflammation, anxiety, depression, insomnia and many other healthy alternatives to prescription medications. One of the best alternative medications in combating and controlling Epilepsy seizures is an area that hemp oil has been superior to pharmaceutical drugs.

CBD, THC, and The Difference Between Them

Yes, there is a big difference between these two chemicals. Yes, they both are found in the same genus of plant, that being Cannabis. However, with that being said, that is all they have in common, though.

There are two types of Cannabis plants. One is Cannabis Indica and the other is Cannabis Sativa. Although each component, CBD, which is cannabidiol and THC, which is tetrahydrocannabinol are present in both types, Cannabis Indica has the most THC and Cannabis Sativa, or Hemp, has very little THC.

THC is the mind-altering chemical that most people associate with Marijuana. Hemp, however, has very little to no THC which the agricultural form of Cannabis Sativa.

Cannabis Indica

According to some doctors, THC is the part of the cannabis plant that is the most strongly effective at reducing pain. It is not just a pain reliever though, it is also a muscle relaxant, and it decreases the intensity of pain. It also changes the way people experience pain. – this is called the “affective component” of pain. So the pain becomes less bothersome.

CBD, on the other hand, is derived from the hemp plant and is legal in all fifty states and is required by law to have under 3% of THC. It is touted as another form of pain relief. Some doctors, however, caution as not enough research has been conducted to conclude that it is a proven form of pain relief.

Actually, the caution is coming more from the Pharmaceutical Industry since they stand to lose millions of dollars from people self-medicating with CBD oil. There have been several studies that indicate CBD oil is by far better at treating minor to moderate pain issues verse opioids. Another great factor is that you can’t die from an overdose of CBD.

In 1988, the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) Chief Administrative Law Judge,
Francis Young wrote,
“In strict medical terms, marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume.
. . . marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis, marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care.”

It is not addicting like opioids are plus the way that hemp oil reacts with the receptors in our bodies has a much better calming effect to the central nervous system in suppressing pain signals to the brain. This suppression allows a tolerance so to speak that helps a person overcome their pain reception.

More research is obviously needed to find the best quality and dose and more strict manufacturing processes to determine a standard that all brands must meet. Currently, some CBD brands are negligent in providing an adequate amount of CBD oil and there is no mandatory testing required in the industry.

To learn more about how CBD oil interacts with our bodies to create a homeostasis level, please refer to this post:

Is CBD Oil for Pain Better Than Opiates?

There is a growing consensus that CBD oil can treat many health ailments without side effects. This news is being shut down by the Big Pharmaceutical Companies because they stand to lose billions of dollars in pharmaceutical drug sales. Last year Big Pharma made 35 billion just on opioids and other pain pills.

This is another reason that the news about the benefits of hemp oil has been kept out of the media. Money that the pharmaceutical industry has profited from because Cannabis is a naturally occurring element and can’t be patented and thus no money can be made from it.

There is no money to be made in the production of hemp oil and big pharma stands to lose billions of dollars in people self-medicating with hemp oil. This would be bad for business. Big Pharma is in business not to cure your ailments, but to control your ailments.

Some reviews below from patients that benefited from hemp oil will show that they were able to discontinue pharmaceutical medications and gain relief from their chronic ailments.

CBD Oil For Losing Weight?

It is a known fact that CBD interacts with our ECS system and like a key, it unlocks our receptors CB1 and CB2. These are the two receptors that are responsible for our perception of pain. But how does it work for losing weight?

  • CBD helps the mitochondria process burn more calories to produce energy within the cells.
  • CBD has the correct ratio of Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty acids (3:1), which is optimal for the body to activate human body proteins and genes for fat breakdown and oxidation.
  • CBD, along with the other terpenes helps the body reach homeostasis which helps demodulate or reduce appetite.

There are other micro chemicals in Hemp oil that doctors can’t explain how or why but they know that they are helping the body achieve balance and better health. For one, it isn’t doing any harm to the body. Whether it is the CBD or the other components is a mystery, yet doctors explain the “Combined Effect” of CBD oil shows great potential in helping people lose weight.

diagram of homeostasis

The body balance that the homeostasis state reaches prevents spikes in hunger cravings which helps control weight gain. There are certain conditions that must be adhered to but the balance of Omega fats in CBD oil helps the body in more ways than harm, which for many people will lose weight.

Using Cannabis As A Brain Healer

Doctors since the discovery of the ECS system in our bodies now realize the brain is rich with cannabinoid receptors in areas responsible for functions like short and long term memory, emotions, motivation, and movement.

According to Doctor Dustin Sulak, DO, Integrative Medicine Physician and the Co-founder of Healer.com says, “Because whether we take cannabis or not, the Endocannabinoid System is extremely active throughout our whole lives. We have more CB1 receptors in the brain than any other type of neurotransmitter receptor.”

“More than the dopamine receptors, the glutamate receptors, the GABA, the serotonin receptors, literally the cannabinoid receptors are all over, they’re everywhere.” But, he goes on to say, “But they’re not evenly distributed. There are certain areas in the brain that have a lot of these cannabinoid receptors, and some areas that have very few cannabinoid receptors. So for example, the part of our brain that controls memory and emotion has a lot of cannabinoid receptors. This is why our cannabis treatment can be effective with conditions like PTSD because it is suppressing excessive activity in those memory and emotional centers.”

“On the other side, we have very few or no cannabinoid receptors in the brain stem cardiorespiratory centers. This is the part of the brain that controls our heart rate and breathing. We do have a lot of opioid receptors there. We also have a lot of benzodiazepine receptors there, so those two classes of drugs, the opioid painkillers and then the benzodiazepine anti-anxiety and muscle relaxing drugs, if we take enough of those it could suppress our heart rate, suppress our breathing, cause us to die. We can’t do that with cannabis because the receptors are just not there.”

“We can’t do that with cannabis because the receptors are just not there.”

Doctor Sulak is a firm believer in using cannabis as a medicinal treatment for not only pain reception but also PTSD, Epilepsy, Alzheimer s Disease, and other chronic ailments of the brain.

diagram of CB1 & CB2 Receptors

Clint Werner, an author, says “So cannabis does affect the expression of the central nervous system. But aside from those effects, there’re studies that find lower rates for Alzheimer’s disease, because another aspect of that interaction with these receptors is the dialing down of neuroinflammation and lowering the production of certain chemicals that may have the effect of establishing plaque deposits in the brain that interrupt signal transmission. That’s part of dementia, Alzheimer’s dementia is this plaque.”

There’s one neurologist, Dr. Gary Wenk, said that cannabinoids, heavy THS cannabinoids, act like scrubbing bubbles in actually dissolving and removing the plaque that’s associated with Alzheimer’s.

Our Endocannabinoid system regulates how the body signals, turns on or turns off certain body functions whether we use cannabis or not. Our bodies create a chemical, anandamide, that is very similar to cannabis THC that acts like a key that locks or unlocks these receptors to control how the body responds to certain stimuli.

We have only just begun our discoveries of how we can influence the cannabinoid receptors for better brain health as well as controlling acute chronic diseases.

Cannabinoids Protect Our Whole Body

David “Avocado” Wolfe, a natural health advocate and author says, “People need to consume CBD on a regular basis because it is the most neuroprotective chemical we’ve ever found, especially in a world of neurologically toxic chemicals. We are saturated with it. Everywhere we turn, even car exhaust is neurotoxic. So we need to defend ourselves.”

David goes on to say that “The cannabinoid compounds both the ones that our bodies produce and the ones that are found in the plant as well as synthetic cannabinoids, have all been shown to be highly neuroprotective.”

“It has been shown numerous times in animal studies, that you can injure the brain and protect it with THC. You can protect it with CBD. We know a lot of age-related diseases, from Parkinson’s to Alzheimer’s, have a component of chronic inflammation, neuroinflammation, and trauma. Cannabis treatment on Parkinson’s disease, for example, was able to relieve the uncontrollable muscle twitching of patients and they were able to relax. There is no other drug in existence that can do this.

Diagram of pathways

We are plagued with many chronic ailments where cannabis has been found to help better than pharmaceuticals.  The ECS has several receptors in the body’s gastrointestinal system that help with its regulation. Some symptoms that cannabinoids can reduce and eliminate include:

Digestive disorders

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea

Seizure Disorders

Movement Disorders

  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Chorea and Huntington’s Disease
  • Dystonia
  • Tics and Tourette Syndrome
  • Spasticity

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK17), a 2010 report shows 60 to 70 million people in the U.S. alone suffer from a digestive disorder. Specific ailments include:

  • Hernias
  • Diverticular Disease
  • Gallstones
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
  • Ulcerative Colitis (UC)
  • Crohn’s Disease (CD)
  • Ulcers

PTSD, Anxiety Conditions, and Other Mental Health Issues

Kylie Davis had a traumatic brain injury and doctors prescribed some very intense medications, one was Topamax and other strong opioids and pain medications to help her get through and finish college. These strong medications prevented her from doing any of the studies in school. A friend told her to try cannabis and for the first time it was a game-changing experience. She was able to relieve her pain and concentrate on her studies.

She immediately poured her Topamax down the drain, but she didn’t stop there. She also poured her Adderall down the drain, a medication she had been on since seventh grade.

Conclusion

There is a real scientific grounding to look at this, the Endocannabinoid System, the master regulator, and saying targeting this could be useful to everything, from metabolic disorders to brain trauma and stroke. The sheer consensus that so much can be done to relieve patients from addiction to medications and the possibilities of an overdose, in my opinion, far out way the stigma of an outdated legal system that prohibits people access to this miracle drug.

There are hurdles to jump over to inform people of the new research that proves the cannabis plant should be legal to everyone. Government control needs to be terminated and the powers at be (Big Pharma) relinquish their grip on society.

I hope you have found this article riveting with vital information for you to be able to make a clear and logical determination of whether to believe the truth or dismiss it as fantasy. After all, it is up to us to decide what is best for our health, and our future.

I hope that you found this information helpful. Cannabis has been truly misunderstood for many years, ever since the US government had listed it as a gateway drug to other narcotics.

It is time that we dismiss the myths that have surrounded this medicinal plant, once and for all.

Is CBD Oil for Pain More Than Opioids?

Doctors that are familiar with medical-grade cannabis all agree that CBD and THC hemp oil should be the first line of defense against chronic pain. So is CBD Oil for pain more than opioids – Yes, most certainly.

CBD oil products are not addictive nor do they pose an overdose problem. They also have amazing other natural benefits for the body that other man-made medications don’t possess.

Opioids and other heavy-duty pain medications should only be prescribed after the first line medication has been exhausted.

Learn how CBD Oil was found to address pain issues better than opioids and avoiding addictions and overdoses.

All because of a chance discovery by two researchers at St. Louis University Medical School 31 years ago… They found a tiny receptor in the brain of a rat that no scientist had ever noticed before.

But then, four years later, in a different lab more than 6,000 miles away, it all became crystal clear…

In a study conducted at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, investigators identified a naturally occurring molecule in the body that fits precisely into the “mystery receptor”—as a key into a lock.

And that key opened the door to a whole new, hidden physiological system in the human body. A system that rivals the immune system and the cardiovascular system in its scope and importance.

This new system is now known as the Endocannabinoid System. this system has the ability to unlock vast healing powers that our bodies can unleash toward some of the deadliest epidemics we face today…

How the Endocannabinoid System Works

The Wikipedia defines the endocannabinoid system (ECS) as a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system (including the brain) and peripheral nervous system.

The Cannabinoid receptors, located throughout the body are involved in a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory. When these receptors, known as CB1 and CB2, are stimulated with a (binding molecule) anandamide, as well as its mimetic phytocannabinoid, THC, along with the other main endocannabinoid (2-AG) along with its own mimetic phytocannabinoid, CBD, have an ability to regulate signals of the nerve endings responsible for pain sensation.

My interpretation of the above paragraph on how these receptors respond to CBD and THC is that the pain signal to the brain is reduced by making awareness of the pain tolerable. Opioids don’t bind to the receptors as well as CBD or THC. Opioids dull the brains’ sensory to the pain but also significantly dulls the brains’ ability to function properly.

This is a breakthrough in the modern-day medical treatment of chronic pain issues. Most pharmaceutical medications, including opioids, have significant side effects that do some permanent damage to other parts of the body. There are possibilities of addiction as well as complications to overdose on these medications, especially pain medications.

CBD and THC do not have any side effects for most people nor is it possible to overdose on either of them. But is it an end-all to the opioid epidemic?

How Does CBD Oil Relieve Pain

This oil has been found to bind easily with the endocannabinoid receptors of the body to act as a switch to turn off the pain signals to the brain.

As a medical doctor, Dustin Sulak, D.O., explains with people experiencing pain, “THC seems to be the part of the plant that is the most strongly effective at reducing pain. It is not just a pain reliever though, it is also a muscle relaxant, and it decreases the intensity of pain. It also changes the way people experience pain. – this is called the “affective component” of pain. So the pain becomes less bothersome.”

Doctor Sulak continues by adding, “CBD, also mimics pain relief but in a slightly different way. CBD is mostly comprised of other components such as CBN, and CBL, other natural cannabinoids, and terpenes found in the cannabis plant. It doesn’t have any of the psychoactive cannabinoid (THC) which is the mind-altering cannabinoid.”

This is what makes CBD oil so appealing to most people. It offers pain relief without the mind-altering effects of marijuana or certain pharmaceutical drugs. It is also commercially produced in several different applications to aid people in their preferred applications.

It’s in a liquid form, usually in coconut oil or olive oil. This system has an eyedropper that distributes one full dose. It is normally dispensed under the tongue. It’s in flavored oils for people who don’t like the natural taste.

It’s in capsule and soft gel capsules to be taken orally with water.

It’s in edibles, such as gummy bears, in specific mg concentrates.

It’s in lotion, creams, and balms, to be rubbed on the area of the body that is giving pain.

It’s in a spray for applying topically.

There is even a CBD Oil For pets

What Doctors Are Saying

Most doctors don’t have any formal education on medical marijuana. Back when most doctors were going to school marijuana was in prohibition and made illegal for research.

These doctors received all their formal training in dispensing pharmaceutical medicines, so they have no formal education in writing prescriptions for natural medicinal plants and herbs.

It’s not that your doctor is keeping a life-saving secret from you…It’s that he or she simply doesn’t know about this alternative healing system.

You see, as monumental as the discovery of the endocannabinoid system was…it wasn’t widely publicized. And, to this day, it’s not being taught in medical school.

“I didn’t learn anything about this in medical school. I feel like I was cheated out of really important information about health and how to care for patients.”

—Preventive medicine physician with degrees from Harvard and Tufts University

“I believe that the majority of practicing physicians are pretty clueless about this.”

—Professor of Medicine (Adjunct) at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

“No education available. Nothing in a textbook, nothing at the level of medical school or residency. In order to educate myself, I was reading study after study, day in and day out. And I was finding that those studies were changing my practice, if not daily, certainly weekly.”

—Harvard-trained internist and emergency medicine physician

Right or wrong, most doctors simply don’t have the time to do that level of independent research. Instead, they’re relying on one major source for their “continuing education”…

Big Pharma.

And guess what? Big pharma isn’t interested in healing people. Selling pharmaceutical medicines is their business. If they cured people, they lose a customer. Profits reign supreme.

Business is booming. Take cancer drugs, for example.

According to one industry report, these medications raked in an eye-popping $123 billion for Big Pharma in 2018 alone. And experts anticipate that revenue to skyrocket to $236 billion in just the next six years!

Proof That It Works

In 2012 Lou S. was diagnosed with lymphoma. For the next four years, he tried everything doctors could think of to treat it.

It became an endless loop of chemo, radiation, and surgery. Nothing was working…and his doctors had run out of options.

So they gave up on him.

They left him hopeless and bedridden.

But Lou’s wife refused to give up. She brought him home and started researching. She came across a few studies on how activating the hidden healing system can target cancer cells. They had nothing left to lose, so she tried it with Lou.

And over the course of the next four months, they saw improvements that had never occurred with ANY of the mainstream treatments he’d endured.

In fact, Lou’s tumor actually got smaller and smaller.

Conclusion

Having to live with pain, day in and day out is not a pleasant way of living. I know firsthand.

When I injured my back at work I couldn’t afford to stay at home and recuperate. I endured unbelievable pain from my sciatic nerve. I tried everything. Chiropractor visits twice a week until I couldn’t afford the office visits.

I couldn’t get comfortable in bed. So I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep. Shock treatments, stretch exercises, pain medication. It took almost a year before my back healed to where I didn’t dread getting out of bed.

My quality of life suffered. My family life suffered. I almost lost my job because of my lack of production.

So any medical product that increases your quality of life is something of value. A product that is not addictive or doesn’t require a prescription, can’t overdose on it and it allows a pain-free life, and is very affordable, is a win-win better alternative to pharmaceutical medications.

Dr. Alan C.
